QRSD Provides Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
In addition to offering a school choice option, Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as reauthorized by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), requires that eligible students attending Title I schools that have not made adequate yearly progress (AYP) for three years be provided with the opportunity for supplemental educational services (SES). SES provides additional academic instruction, free of charge, to students from low income families who are attending Title I schools that are in their second year of school improvement, in corrective action or in restructuring status. Parents choosing the SES option for their children must choose from a list of state-approved providers. Currently, Ruggles Lane School in Barre is the Quabbin District’s one school that is providing supplemental educational services to students in grades 1-6 whose families meet the established income limits.
Go to the Elementary and Secondary Education Department's "Find a Provider" page to view a list of providers approved to serve the Quabbin District. http://www.doe.mass.edu/ses/search.asp
*Please note that all providers listed have been contacted by Quabbin and only the following four are currently providing services in our area: Catapult Learning, Club Z!, Smarties Tutoring Services and Sylvan Learning Center.
