Use of School Facilities Recently we have had several complaints of misuse of the school. We are extremely concerned for the safety of all that use this building. Please remember that everyone wants this building to remain a clean & safe place to meet. Use of the building is a privilege and can be revoked. Gym: Any physical education equipment or other equipment is off limits. Stay off the floor mats that are stacked in the corner. Do not allow anyone to hang on the basketball rims. Cafeteria & Upper Lobby: If your activity takes place in the cafeteria, please do not allow children to move cafeteria tables, sit on chairs when stacked or climb on the railings. Please return chairs to their stacks after use. Our Extended Day program has many materials in the cafeteria, all materials are off limits. Classrooms: When using a classroom please do not erase information on the board. DO NOT TOUCH SMARTBOARDS!! Furniture moved should be returned to its original location. ALL materials in classrooms, art room, music room, and library are off limits. The teacher’s desk and inside of students desks are strictly off limits. In all areas: Bathroom supervision should be provided. Please check the bathroom area to make sure your group has not left this area messy. If anything is damaged please notify the custodian before leaving. Please keep noise at a reasonable level, staff and students may still be working. No climbing on railing, sliding on banisters. No running except in the gym or on the playground. Remember students have rules during the day when in school those same rules should be followed when at after school activities also. ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY WHEN USING THE SCHOOL AT OTHER TIMES OF THE DAY!!
School Visitation: Parents/Guardians are cordially invited to visit their child(ren’s) school. However, for the safety and security of guest and students, visitors are required to present themselves at the office upon arrival at HCS. In the office, visitors will sign in and receive a visitor badge. Upon departure, visitors are asked to return to the office to sign out. If you have concerns about your child’s progress or would like to talk to the teacher, you would then need to schedule an appointment for a conference before or after school. We must remember, teachers are teaching! Conducting a conference during children’s learning time would be disruptive to the educational process. Please remember while visiting the school whether volunteering or just walking through the halls. Confidentiality is a must. All students deserve privacy whether it is a good or bad day for them.
